Monday Musings

The weather here has been fluctuating.  After a week filled with high humidity and hot temperatures we got relief for a few days. There is nothing better than cool summer nights where one can sleep with the windows open.  Those are my favorite. But the heat is back.

Given it was a holiday weekend where many head to the beach or plan fun outings, no surprise the man spent the whole weekend watching tv and tweeting. Can you say boring. ha  Sometimes I forget he's 39, at times he seems more like an old man these days.  He also went an ordered a tv on Saturday, which I thought we were going to shop together for on Sunday. Lately I swear the man says one thing and does another. I'll leave it at that.

Meanwhile I still had plenty of work to do on the house,  trying to focus on one room at a time.  The utility and laundry area were the focus, probably the toughest as it needs some serious organizing and the boxes are heavy. Also dabbled in the shed a little too.  And bruised my rib from using the drill.  Sometimes drilling holes takes more power than tiny me has.  Even more reason why I need to start lifting weights!

Eventually sat down to watch Penn State's first game of the season.  It was a rough game and they lost to Temple for the first time since 1941.  It was rather disappointing to start the season off like that but it's just a game right?  Made a delicious new casserole recipe for dinner.  The night involved more college football.

Sunday thought we were going to go shopping and have a nice day out.  We did go to IKEA but the man seemed in poor spirits.  He used to enjoy going shopping, we had fun when we went into stores now he just seems to want to get in and out as fast as possible.  To get home and watch tv of course. So while he watched golf on tv I spent the rest of the day drilling holes, hanging things and trying to organize office.

Friday night checked out glasses pearle vision ordered for me.  Still having a hard time deciding on frames.  Everything looks so big on my face.  Though I picked out a pair just not sure they will be a comfortable as my old ones.  My last frames were half frames, very light so they blended into my face which made it look like I wasn't even wearing glasses at times.  The new ones are much bolder and trendier.  Have to admit my 7 year old niece had a big hand in the decision too as she told me I should go with frames all around instead of the half look.  Gotta listen when your fashionista niece speaks.

Due to the dizziness took a break from wearing contacts, recently decided to try and give them a try only to find out the ones I wore have been discontinued.  So far the two brands I've tried haven't worked out, so hoping we can find something.  Few issues are working against me...astigmatism, chronic dry eye and strong prescription.  So if you have all three and know of a good brand of contacts please let me know.

The man came to try to help pick out glassed but he wasn't much help.  He doesn't get how I want him to show the same interest and enthusiasm I do toward him when he needs help in picking out stuff.  Next time I will bring my niece.  At least we went out to dinner afterwards.  Tried Red Robin out for the first time, they are known for the gourmet burgers.  The burgers were great and would highly recommend the place.

Oh did get the man off the couch for a little this afternoon to get some shakes at the local sonic.  Even Cooper got to go for a ride.

And that's what's up over here.  Exciting stuff right.  My twenties self would probably say find a partner in crime and get busy having fun.  I get restless with too much sitting around.   Also been thinking more and more about how I want to get back to living in a beach town again, my soul is happiest near the ocean. The kind of town where you can actually bike places.  Maybe it's a pipe dream but I did it once which means it can be done again!

For the holiday this little gem.
