Lifes Tragedies

Robin Williams passing is sad.  A man who made the world laugh suffered to the point he chose to leave this earth.  He isn't the first and won't be the last.  Some choose to by their own will, others have no choice.  But suffering on earth is a reality.

He struggled with addiction, depression, hard financial times, etc.,all things no one is immune to.  Sadly such things are becoming an all too familiar headline of the news.  And it's not just celebrities. While our world has made many advances and strides the fact remains it is also overwhelmed by addictions, diseases, drugs, wars, violence, horrible and senseless crimes, hatred, hunger, divorce and broken families, evil, unemployment, debt, pollution and many more unimaginable stresses.  Life is not easy by any means.

Truth is some of the greatest lessons in life come through such struggles and difficult things. But when too many of those things start to built in one persons, how and where are they suppose to turn?  What are they suppose to do? When the pain and suffering become too much to bear what is any one to do?  Most things in life are not black and white, there are shades of grey to life that leave many feeling stuck.

Sometimes the world can be a very lonely, painful and selfish place.  Or at least feel that way at some point or the other.  And even though many put on happy faces to the world what lies beneath can be anything but happy.

It's easy to say hold on one more day, or it won't last forever.  But for those in pain or suffering in whatever shape or form, even one day can feel like an eternity. Maybe some made choices that put them where they are, maybe others didn't.  Does it really matter how people get there?

What matters more is....How can we truly help those who need it?  Especially the ones that cannot help themselves?  And what about the ones that can get the help they need but refuse?  The complexities of life can even overwhelm those who want to help.

Maybe what we can take away from such tragedies is to see and try to understand that everyone truly is fighting a battle we know absolutely nothing about.  How can we possibly imagine what another suffers unless we actually walk in their shoes?  All we can do is try to understand, try to listen and be there for others.

Is there something to be learned from every tragedy?  Is our world some how not grasping it. Can we prevent some of these tragedies?  It's a deep question, that needs deep thinking and solutions. So many questions, yet so little answers.

Maybe we can all help by trying hard not to judge, assume or even gossip.  Try to be more compassionate, kind, loving toward others.  As a world we need to not only stand together but up for those who can't.  We need to stop the wrong that is occurring on a daily basis all over the world.  They say it takes village to raise a child, if that is true than it takes a every city in every country to come together to right the wrong in our world.

It all starts by simply reaching out to those in need and struggling, it could make a world of a difference.  It starts by making our voices heard. Believing that every one of us can make a difference no matter how small.  It starts by trying to help and support each other. We need to try to make the world a happier, healthier and safer place.  People say it can't be done, that it's impossible but nothing is impossible to those who believe and more importantly work together one small step at a time to accomplish it.

We cannot let the pain and suffering continue we must find ways to improve life here on earth for every one.
