Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday. Please meet some great dogs from CA, GA, NJ, NY, PA, TX and WI all in need of good, loving homes!

Harry is a handsome and distinguished gentleman, a West Highland Terrier.  He is a young adult and is calm, sweet and eager to please.  Harry loves to be with people and prefers a home where people are around.   Harry is good with other dogs and mostly ignores them as he prefers people.  Harry loves to take walks, will get silly with a toy or ball if you want to play and mostly is happy just to hang out with you and take naps by your side. Harry will make some lucky person a great companion.  He's a terrific dog. Please lets find him a loving home!

Chloe is an adorable Greyhound at only about 55 pounds. She's very friendly with a gentle face and eyes. She gets along wonderfully with our other grey. They respect each other’s space. There is no food aggression at all. She has learned to play with squeaky toys and loves to chew on her bones. We have introduced her to cats and she is fine with them. She loves to run in the yard and chase squirrels up trees and mingle along the fence with the neighbor’s dogs. She loves to cuddle with us and shows great affection. She runs and plays happily… especially in the rain.  Please lets find her a good home!

Nala is a gentle, quiet little girl full of hope and warmth. And she's stunning! This beautiful Chihuahua/Dachshund has a golden coat with honey colored eyes and the most adorable big ears -- one sticks up and the other flops down. She's shy in the beginning but it's easy to see how eager she is to relax and give you the love that's bursting out of her. Nala is only a year old and about 10 pounds but could lose a little weight. She's good with other dogs, cats, and everyone she meets. Please lets find her loving home!

 Big Ben is an 8-10 year old Yellow Lab who was surrendered to the shelter because he was having some mobility issues. Luckily, he was rescued by City of Elderly Love and was able to see our vet! As it turns out, Ben has some weakness in his hips and back, as well as arthritis, typical for a larger, older dog. Ben is now on some appropriate anti inflammatories and gets a pain shot once a month that is inexpensive, which work wonders for him! Ben is currently in foster care where he loves going on daily walks,snuggling with his foster mom and laying around in the sun on their outdoor patio. Ben especially loves to play fetch. He carries his toys around like treasures even on walks. There's so much personality in this big guy. He rides well in the car and is a good boy when visiting the vet. Ben doesn't seem to mind other dogs and would do best in a home with other older, low key dogs like himself.  Ben would do best in a first floor apartment or in a home with few stairs, as he can only manage a few at a time due to his arthritis. He doesn't require much daily exercise, but does love his walks. He will need to continue is pain-management regiment. Ben would do best in a home with older children, those who know that he's past his roughhousing days and who won't mess with his back legs much, as sometimes they are still achy. Ben is current on vaccinations and will be neutered and micro chipped before going to his forever home. Please consider giving this special, sweet guy the retirement home of his dreams. Please lets find him a great home!

Please help get her out. She is currently in a high kill shelter. In order for her to catch the ride to WI on May 3rd, she has to have a foster home or an adopter. This is her last chance. If she doesn't get out this time, she doesn't have a next time. The shelter gets too full. The rescue has put a hold on her to save her life but now they need your help. Hashbrown is a one year old Terrier mix smothered and covered in cuteness. She is a wiry little guy with a sweet and quiet demeanor. She may be a terrier type, but is content to get some scratches behind the ear and chew on a nice bone, In fact, that’s her idea of a perfect afternoon. The only other thing that would make it better would be a doggie friend to share it with.  She walks nicely on the leash, and she is just an all around lady. She doesn't need hardly any grooming since she is a wiry doggie. She is hoping that you might pick her to come live with you.  Please lets find her a loving home!

No paw left behind our mission!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
