Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday. Please meet some great dogs from CA,NY, OH, PA and TX all in need of good, loving homes!
Summer and her recently adopted pal were weaving through traffic in a dangerous neighborhood. They were both covered in dirt and fleas and suffering from a bout of diarrhea from eating garbage. A Good Samaritan corralled them into a parking lot area and safely transported them to The Fuzzy Pet Foundation. Summer is only a year old with the most friendly, loving, and sweet personality. She loves all people and animals! She is well-mannered and enjoys following around her caregivers. We think she may be mixed with a Maltese and Westie Terrier. She has longer hair than pictured here, but she was recently groomed due to all the mats and dirt on her body. Summer has a clean bill of health. She was vaccinated, de-wormed, de-fleaed, fecal-tested, microchipped, spayed, and her dewclaws were surgically removed from her hind legs to prevent serious injury. Summer would make an excellent family companion. She does great on leash walks and does not have any behavioral issues. She would do well in a home with children too.  Please lets find her a loving home!

Muneca is a Long Haired Dachshund mix, 3 years, 16 pounds. Muneca is shy but has a heart of gold. She just needs time and space to relax and warm up. She's what we call a velcro dog once she knows you, she's attached to you like glue. Giving her the slow warmth she needs in order to let her true wonderfulness come out is more worth it than you can imagine. Fine with other dogs and cats, best in a low activity home.  If interested in adopting fill out an application first. Please lets find her a great home!

Franklin came into the rescue after one of our volunteers fell in love with him at the pound.  We believe he is a German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix.  Franklin is estimated to be around 5-years-old.  Franklin gets along well with other dogs and with cats. He is looking for his special family.  He is doing well with house-training. He has a good amount of energy and would make a great walking or jogging partner.  Franklin does not like to be crated and we recommend that he is not crated.  Please lets find him a good home!

Franklin - Kent, OH

 Rodrigo is a 16-pound, six-year-old, very handsome black and tan boy with the sweetest and most gentle disposition. He hasn't been with his foster family for very long, but he has adapted nicely to life in a home very different from the one he came from.  Rod is getting a tune up soon! He'll get thorough teeth cleaning and a neutering and then he will be ready to move to his forever home. Because of his shyness, a quiet home with someone who's around most of the day will be needed. He is a shy dog and will require owners with patience to spare. He may not come to you at first and he'll need lots of help as he learns to trust. He needs a bit of construction work, too. You see, he lacks confidence, it's a part of the whole shyness package, so Rodrigo will require lots of "good dog," "sweet boy," and your special loving affirmations. Rodrigo was crated a lot in his former home, so toilet training is an on-going project that is going quite well. Bedtime is Rodrigo's favorite time of day. Maybe not sleep time, but more, hang out on the bed with the other dogs and his foster parents, time. As with many shy dogs, the bed seems to level the playing field, everyone is at the same level, and Rodrigo is no exception. As he becomes more comfortable in his surroundings you will find he moves closer and closer to you in the bed. In fact, he loves the down duvet so much, he would head up to the bedroom much earlier in the evening if he could. Rodrigo is buddies with the three other dogs in the house and has learned how to eat his meals at certain times, rather than the grazing that he did in his first home. As with most shy and sensitive dogs, the investment in patience at the start is rewarded with more love and devotion you could ever imagine. These dogs become the most loyal of companions. Please lets find him a loving home!

Finn is a young Labrador Retriever mix. His current foster family has other dogs in the house and Finn does fine around the other dogs. He likes to chase after the squirrels in the yard. Finn is house broke enough to only go outside as long as he is taken out periodically.  He is neutered and good around their older children.   Finn likes to run and be chased outside. Of course you have to be pretty fast to keep up with him. Please lets find him a great home!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
