Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday. Please meet some great dogs from CA, FL, NY, PA, SC and TX all in need of good, loving homes!

Bubbles is a 3 1/2 month Beagle/Pomeranian mix about 16 lbs. She is very active and into everything. She gives lots of kisses and loves to be played with. An active family with kids would be ideal for this little girl to romp with. Another dog is great as well. She has no experience with cats yet but could be trained. She will need everything from scratch including housebreaking, obedience and leash training. She is the biggest of the litter but the middle child born out of three. Her Mom is a Pom mix and on the smaller size but daddy is unknown. Being a puppy she is raring to go and show off her antics to her new family. She brings a lot of laughs and is very funny with all her tricks. Take a look at those soulful eyes and open your hearts and she won't disappoint. Please lets find her a loving home!

Maggie is a Labrador Retriever. Things weren't looking so good for her as nobody wanted a fourteen year old, but someone from Lab Rescue decided to take a chance on her and she has stolen the hearts of all who've met her.  She put on some weight since coming in a couple of weeks ago. She is getting her pep back in her step and loves hanging with other dogs. Don't let the old age fool you  most of the vets say she doesn't look a day over eight or nine.  She is a survivor, plain and simple and would love a home to call her own. She is being fostered in the Tampa area.   Her past owners gave up on her. But she says never give up on older sick dogs like she was as they can be healed and live a fulfilling life. Please lets find this precious girl a great home!

Bay and Breezy are a Labrador Retriever and Whippet mix and a very special pair of siblings who the rescue went all the way to Nassau, Bahamas to rescue. At the time of their discovery they were 6 weeks old and had already suffered abuse. Bay's right foreleg is paralyzed as a result of blunt force trauma and Breezy has a side hernia, also suspected to have been caused by a hard impact of some type, as well as a tail broken in multiple places. Because of the incredible bond the pair share we have made the decision that these siblings will need to be adopted together. Breezy is very helpful to Bay who is learning how to navigate life without the use of weight bearing foreleg. Their bond is unmistakable.Bay and Breezy continue to thrive. At 4-months-old, they each weigh approximately 17lbs. and are estimated to be around 35lbs. when full grown. Bay has undergone a successful amputation of his right scapula and foreleg, as well as a neuter. Breezy will have surgery to correct her hernia, address her tail and a spay at the end of January. Breezy continues to support Bay. He has recently learn to climb down stairs, though it is a slow and hesitant process. On one attempt, when he had three stairs left, he sat down in frustration and began to cry. Hearing her brother's distress, Breezy bounded up the stairs and put one of her forelegs around Bay in an attempt to help him down. We were astounded. They are silly together, play wrestling for long intervals, then peaceful together, slumbering side by side, often facing one another. Breezy even mimics the rabbit-like hop Bay does in order to get around on only three legs. There is no doubt in our mind that while it will be more of a challenge to find a home for two dogs, we are doing the right thing be not splitting them up. If you have room in your heart and home for two very best friends email us for more information and an adoption application.  Please lets find these special siblings a good home!

 Jefferson is 4 year old West Highland/Schnauzer mix who weighs about 22lbs.  Jefferson's owner became ill and could no longer care for him and his buddies.  Jefferson is such a sweetheart who is finally beginning to blossom, after almost a year at Carolina Poodle Rescue. Though he cannot speak, his actions say a lot about his past. Jefferson was kept outside in a pin for all of his life, with his 4 other buddies. His owner’s did not spend much time with him, he is very unsure of humans, and afraid of what we “might” do. Slowly but surely, Jefferson is learning to trust, and is loving every second of it!  We believe that Jefferson is as social as he is going to get here with us. He spent 2 months in a foster home, and made great progress. He is for the most part house trained, completely crate trained, and walks wonderfully on a leash with someone he trusts. He gets along great with all other dogs and with cats.An ideal home for Jefferson will be with someone who stays home a lot, and who has a lot of patience.  Please lets find him a great home!

Molly and Ruby are Dachshunds.  Ruby is Molly's mother. This pair are sweetness doubled. They are loving and easy going. They want nothing more than to be in your lap all day, but if you are busy, they are just as happy snuggling together underneath blankets in their beds or just following you around watching what you are up to. They are perfect for whatever mood you are in. If you feel like outdoors and exercise, they absolutely love going for walks and enjoy lazing out in the sunshine. But if the weather is cold and you want to stay in all day, they are just as happy to be lazy with you. They love going for car rides and are calm and happy as clams. They also make good feet warmers in your bed at night, and sleep all night until you get up. They were trained to sleep in their crate at night by their previous foster parents, so that would be fine too. They are very attached to each other, but that is a good thing because they snuggle together and don't need constant attention from their humans, even though they are so loveable and easy to have around, you can't help but spoil them. They are great watchdogs who can hear someone or something a mile away, but are friendly to all once they meet them.  Please lets find these sweethearts a good home!

No paw left behind our mission!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
