Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday. Please meet some great dogs from CA, GA, NY, PA and TX all in need of good homes.

Feel free to share on social media, as the more their stories get shared the better chance they have of finding family's and homes!

 Gimli is a West Highland Terrier mix, who will constantly put a smile on your face with his playful antics, love of affection, and all around good-naturedness.  Gimli came to us from Kern County in early May, and his pictures are of him around 3.5 months.  Born in early February, he will continue to grown until the fall, but we think he won't get much bigger than 20-25 pounds.   If your goal in a doggie companion is to have a doting, playful pup, then Gimli will do doubt fit the bill. Please let's find this guy a loving home!

Maximillian is a sad and lonely seven year old,  robust Jack Russell Terrier who was cast off by his Owner, along with his lifelong Lady Love, Bonnie, and dumped in a harsh Animal Control facility. Maxx and Bonnie had tag teamed the family cat. Terriers and cats are not a match made in heaven. People should know better.  Soon after arriving at the Shelter, Maxx and Bonnie contacted kennel cough, and while Maxx was able to fight off the bug, sadly Bonnie did not make it. Maxx was a bit sullen for a while, but now he has brightened up in foster care, and is settling in nicely. Maxx has buddied up with a few of our small foster dogs and has begun to enjoy life again. Our Maxx has begun to show some signs of joy.Maxx would be a great family dog in a cat free home. He is quite friendly and seems to greet everyone with the same good cheer. Maxx would be a good companion for older kids. He is a sturdy enough dog to stand up to rough horse play. Maxx could easily join a multi-dog home, or be a great companion to an active single or couple. He loves attention and action, but would be content to lounge in his crate during the work day. We'd describe Maxx as the "Anti-Jack" in that he is spirited, but not over-the-top frantic like some of the high energy Jack Russells we have known. He does need a far amount of exercise and focussed playtime. As an adult dog, Maxx is well past the puppy destructive stage and has mellowed into adulthood. Maxx would be a great choice for a first time JRT owner. He is fairly calm for his breed and easy to handle.  Please let's find him a great home!

 Jagger is a beautiful greyhound.  He's mostly white with a bit of brindle.  He has an outgoing personality.  He loves toys.  He is recovering from a track injury but that should not cause him any issues once he's completely healed.  Please let's find him a loving home!

Hope is a Dachshund mix who has an inner beauty that comes from having survived the worst and still believing in the best. Hope was rescued by a Good Samaritan who found her abandoned, hungry, and with what appeared to be burn marks on her skin. Hope's rescuer took her in and cared for her, treating the burns, getting her back to the perfect weight, catching up on all her shots, and making sure she was heartworm negative an on preventative. Hope is now well and ready to be adopted. She has healed from her burns with no scars and has been spayed. She is ready to start a new life with a loving adopter. Hope has a very sweet, calm personality. Through all this time, Hope has remained positive and cooperative. She likes people, gets along with other dogs, and really appreciates being rescued. Don't let the gray fool you- Hope is a survivor with a lot of life in her, and she has a heart of gold.  Please lets find her a good home!

No paw left behind our mission!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
