Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday. Please meet some special dogs from CA, NY, PA, SC and TX  all in need of good, loving homes.

Beanie is a 5 month old, male, Basset Hound mix. He was rescued from a shelter with his brother. He is a low energy dog, but loves to play with his dog toys. He loves attention and is very happy sitting next to you while you pet him. He is almost house trained, but defiantly crate trained. In fact, if you leave the door open, he will go in there for a nap on his own. Beanie is a submissive pup that wants to be your lap dog. Please lets find this little guy a great home!

Simon and Kudos are American Eskimos. They came from a rural Humane Society, where these boys were after Animal Control officers confiscated them from neglectful owners. Simon and Kudos were left in the yard during recent blizzard conditions, for days on end with no food or water. Concerned neighbors were tossing over food scraps, until several complaints were filed with Animal Control and ultimately, these 3 year old, miniature Eskie beauties, were seized and brought to safety.

The boys have both had thorough vet exams and are in excellent health, albeit a bit thin and malnourished. Their coats are matted and stained, but nothing so dire that a proper grooming and change to healthy diet won't fix. Shelter volunteers have reported that Simon and Kudos have gentle, sweet personalities, but are a bit shy and timid around strangers. Please lets find these sweeties a good home!

This charming gal lives to be with, and please, her humans. She gets along with other dogs and even cats, but humans really are her thing, which given the way she was treated in the past is quite amazing. She and her dog buddy we kept in a back yard, tied to a tree. During a thunderstorm one night her buddy was so scared that he wrapped himself so tightly around the tree that he choked to death. We don't know how long the two of them were there before a good Samaritan neighbor stepped in and took her in.
Sugar Pie is very quiet, loves to sleep with you or in a bed next to yours, knows the doggie door, and walks well on a leash.  She is a very low heartworm positive with no microfilaria, but because of her age they have chosen not to put her through the very harsh heartworm treatment. She is receiving monthly doses of Heartgard, which will eventually kill off all of the adult worms that she has, and of course it prevents her from developing any new baby worms. In the meantime, you would never know that there is anything wrong with her - she has a great combination of spunk and love that she gives to anyone that she meets. You just can't help but fall in love with her.

Feel free to use social media to spread the word about these dogs. The more people hear about them the better chance they have of finding homes. Thanks. (or as the dogs would say woof, woof)

No paw left behind our mission!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment.  They need attention, love and time just like we do.  In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
