Woof Wednesday

Welcome to Woof Wednesday.  Please meet some great dogs from CA, FL, IL,IN and SC, all in need of good, loving homes!

And as always feel free to use social media to spread the word about today's sweet dogs.  As the more people who see and hear about them the better their chances of finding homes. Thanks!

Caldwell is a very sweet guy.  He was rescued from a local municipal shelter and is happy to be alive. He longs for a place to call home and a warm bed. He gets along great with other dogs and would make a great addition to any home!

Caldwell - Columbia,SC

Mookie is a 5 1/2 yr old, female, Basset Hound/Beagle mix. She is a healthy Bassett Hound. She has all of her updated shots and is spayed. She is looking for a home that has plenty of room to roam and sniff around. She would love to have a fenced in backyard to bask in the sun in. As, that is something she loves to do. She loves children and is very tolerant of their 'love' that they like to give. Adoption fee $150 includes spay/neuter, utd vaccines, heartworm test (if older than 8 months), and worming.

Sallie is a stunning Westie/Schnauzer mix  she is 2-3yrs old and weighs approx 25 lbs. Sallie is housetrained, does well with the other dogs and is well behaved.  A fenced yard, vet reference, adoption contract & adoption fee of $325.00 is required to adopt this girl.

Petunia and Sugar are a Westie/Pom mix. They are 9 1/2 year old  They aren't ordinary dogs. Life has given them special gifts along with the strength and ability to overcome them. Unfortunately their previous owner were not able to care for them any longer. As a result Sugar's nails had grown so long they were imbedded into her pads & Petunia is about 12 pounds overweight. Sugar was born with deformed hind legs. Her front legs are also deformed. We're not sure if they were the result of an accident or abuse. Sugar's determination has given her the ability to walk very short distances but for the most part she needs to be carried. Petunia was born blind and deaf. This doesn't seem to bother her and she gets around quite well once she learns her environment.  If you have a quiet home environment and are looking to add two quiet, loving and deserving girls to your household please contact Paws! Sugar and Petunia are a Westie/Pom mix. They are littermates so we want to keep these 2 wonderful girls together to live out their golden years. So now it's time to ask yourself this question. Are you special enough to care for these 2 lovable girls?

This shelter needs all the help it can get. All animals at this shelter May become in danger of euthanasia 5 days after it arrives as a stray, or immediately after it arrives as an owner surrender because the shelter is badly overcrowded with animals. They don't get enough adopters, don't have enough cages for all the animals, and are required by law to continue taking in any animals the public brings them.  They don't always have enough employees or volunteers to answer the phones, and when they do, hold times can be long.  Please don't give up on these dogs in need.

It's our mission!
{Please keep in mind a dog is a lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care,training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}

  1. Oh Mookie is adorable! I wish I could take him! I have 3 cats that would not appreciate that though. Sigh...
