"There is a difference between being alone and feeling alone."

Sometimes there are moments, where no matter how many people surround us be it none, one or many, we may still feel alone or even lonely.  It's usually a variety of things that can bring on such a feeling.

Usually for me lack of sleep can be a contributor.  As is a lack of communication or even miscommunication, feeling unappreciated at home, the notion that the weight of the world is on my shoulders, selfish people, pms, overall sometimes just a general disconnected feeling to those I love due to something they do or don't do,etc., well you get the idea.  Anyway, it was one of those days that by evening left me feeling rather that way.

Oh these feelings usually are fleeting and pretty much disappear as quickly as they emerge much like a shooting star.  And as I sit and looked up at the stars this evening they are a great reminder that we are all connected some how.  That at times it may not always feel like we are, but we are.  And that somewhere out there in our vast universe someone is feeling the exact same way as another.  When put in that perspective it can change everything.

Nature is great at that.  Just sit out in nature day or night as it' a great reminder to let whatever may be bothering us go.  And if we let it, it can also be a great reminder that no one is ever truly alone there are stars to light our nights, sun to give us life, flowers to show us miracles and animals to keep us company when humans cannot.  Ah yes there may be moments where we might feel alone but eventually the universe will some how subtly find a way to reminds us we are not.

“Loneliness, or feeling alone, adds beauty to life. It puts a special burn on sunsets and makes night air smell better.  If accepted it becomes a gift leading one from a life dominated by ego to discovery of one's true self and finally to the heart of longing and the love of God or a higher power."
