Soul Sunday

Disappointment is a sort of bankruptcy - the bankruptcy of a soul that expends too much in hope and

There have been moments lately where I let disappointment get the best of a day.  And have to admit when I saw this quote I thought yes that's it.....too much hope and expectation was expended.

Little things like making an elaborate home made meal only to get stuck with huge piles of dishes when I thought I might get some help without having to even ask or wait.

Getting a bad dizzy spell after thinking maybe they were tapering off and imaging all the things I was going to do when I could drive all over once again.  No such luck.  Or getting results back that one had not expected.

Then there is having people promise things that never come to fruition, or say one thing but do another.

Being denied the little affectionate moments I love so much in fact might be the ultimate disappointment lately.

Sometimes it's the little things that can leave us feeling the most disappointed.

But on this Sunday I came across this verse about God or a Higher Power as some believe....

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

And maybe in the midst of disappointment that is what we all need to keep in mind.  Maybe there is a purpose, a reason behind disappointments that we just cannot understand at the moment it happens.   And maybe we can even save ourselves a little disappointment by simply not having expectations though I know that's easier said then done.

So this Sunday I thought this was a perfect inspiration and nourishment for the soul.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing the 5 Simple Rules. I'm going to write these down and stick them on my fridge. I need to be reminded of these daily!

  2. Those 5 Simple Rules are great, and something I need to remember for sure. Just stumbled upon your blog and so glad I did! It's so colorful and fun :)

Please feel free to share your thoughts. Blessings!
