Yesterday I watched Wayne Dyer on one of Oprah's new shows.  Best word to describe it was enlightening.

The thing that stood out the most was when he made mention of how what we focus on we bring more of into our lives.  In other words if we say I am unhappy we will only bring more unhappy feeling into our life.  Those words must be changed to things such as I am happy, I am wealthy, I am healthy.

Now I've heard it before but something felt as if it truly resonated with my soul, it was like an a ha moment.

Books like The Secret discuss this concept as well.  Of course there are those who believe and those who do not.

I've always been some where in the middle.  Wanting to believe it is possible yet not wanting to get my hopes up in case it wasn't.  It's hard not to be skeptical as if just thinking something could bring it into our lives why doesn't everyone win the lottery or be healed from physical afflictions?

But yesterday listening to Dyer I felt more attracted to the overall concept.  I don't think it's an easy thing to do by any means, changing our thoughts is tough.  It requires focus, concentration and many times hard work.  Especially letting go of deep ingrained thoughts that may have been in our minds for a while or learned from childhood.

But the idea that what we think about, what we focus on becomes our reality is not only fascinating but incredibly deep.  Do our minds have that kind of power?  Is it in each one of us to literally change our reality simply by the way we think?

It's basic principle is if we focus on the positive we will see and attract more positive.  And vice verse for negativity.

Would it really hurt to give it a try, the most that can happen is one might be disappointed if it doesn't render the results they hope for but isn't it at least worth exploring or trying.

I have been going through very challenging health issues this year, ones in which have left so many specialists puzzled so I can't help but wonder what would happen if some how I could change my thoughts regarding it.  It would probably be a huge test of this theory as it has such control over my life that it's hard not to focus on it.  But there are other areas of my life that could use a change in thoughts as well.

So I would like to get the book he wrote on this subject, and see what ideas if any he can offer to go about incorporating this into my world.  Maybe I can even get the man to buy into the idea I think it would benefit us both!
