Woof Wednesday

This Woof Wednesday I'm doing something a little different.  I want to share an article I came across on Facebook by the ASPCA which caught my attention....Abandoned Family Pets.

And so today I want to draw attention to this issue, as I was deeply saddened to learn that people would abandon their family pets in such inhumane manners.   Reality is with the hard economic times that so many people are experiencing it appears this is happening more than many of us might realize.

Oh I understand what it means to go through economic hard times but that does not excuse people from still taking responsibility, from still being good human beings.  To leave an animal who has shown nothing but love to starve in an empty house is disgusting, horrible, and shameful.  Especially given the numerous animal rescues, shelters, and organizations that do exist.

When I read such articles I wonder are their really certain individuals in our society that could stoop to that level of cruelty, and show such a lack of compassion or love toward an animal?  And sadly there are.  Besides those kind of behaviors happen everyday in many puppy mills as well.

I'm sharing this article in the hopes that maybe it will help save an animal.  I sure don't have all the answers but maybe just maybe articles like this will make others aware of such issues.
And maybe if anyone knows of a house being foreclosed in their neighborhood inquire as to if the family might need help with their pets, or after the people move out maybe do a sweep of the property to see if their might be any animals that have been left behind.
The previous dogs listed on Woof Wednesdays over recent weeks are still available as well.  Please let's try to find these dogs a loving home.  And thank you for taking the time to read this very important post.!

{Please keep in mind a dog is a lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care,training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}
