Too Early

"Sleep is like the unicorn - it is rumored to exist, but doubt I will see any."

Too early....but here I am.  First it was 6, then 5:30, 5 and now 4am!  (and no one needs to get up until 6:45)   And it's happening pretty much everyday now.  Beginning to worry that it might get even earlier than that....

The man's poor sleeping habits are now starting to affect me as well.  Have I mentioned I'm a light sleeper?  As soon as he makes any kind of noise like going to the bathroom, or walking around the bedroom I'm pretty much awakened.  And of course cannot get back to sleep.  Does that happen to anyone else?

He on the other hand wakes up watches tv, and even dozes back to sleep.  Leaving me to toss and turn in the wee hours of the morning.  So this morning I thought to myself I can't stand it any longer, I might as well do something productive instead of lay there dwelling on the fact I'm missing precious sleep. (so I decided to work on bills figure if anything might make me drowsy it would be that)  Nada.  So here I am blogging as well.  And browsing photos of happily sleeping people and animals. :)

If a man had as many ideas during the day as he does when he has insomnia, he'd make a fortune

Think we need to get a bed for one of our extra rooms, I remember my grandparents did that because of their different sleeping habits.  He liked to sleep, she had trouble sleeping.  So on the nights he really wanted a good nights sleep he slept in their spare bedroom.  I'm at the point where that sounds like a great idea as I just want a few nights a week where I can sleep 7-8 hrs straight through.  (not sure I even remember what that is like)  Experts say for optimal energy/health people should get 7-9 hours a sleep a night. Now I know that differs for many people but I have to admit I find 7-8 the best, any less and I tend to feel out of sorts or run down.
It's strange too because years ago, when I first met my man, I thought he slept a lot but maybe it's because he used to go to bed so much later. We used to be able to sleep until at least 8,  even remember him sleeping right through until 10 some weekends.  Whatever the reason I'm wondering if there might be some natural remedies/ideas/vitamins to help him sleep through the night or even things that might help me get back to sleep after his noise/movement wakes me up.  I've read up on a few things but who knows if they really work.
Ah the joys and perils of sleep......
