Fairy Tale

Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.

This morning as I was still sleeping I heard my man vaguely exclaim "it's royal romance time". Or something of that nature as it was 4am and everything seems fuzzy at that hour.  So we tuned into Good Morning America to watch the festivities. (and started sleepily dozing by the time they got to I do, that's what we get for waking up so early) haha

But my man really could not get over the crowds of people, nor why so many millions of people have such an interest in the couples life.  Or why they care so much about the wedding.  And so I summed it up in one simple word....fairy tale.

Their story alone is a modern day fairytale.  A commoner, as they refer to her as, fell in love with a prince and the prince with her. They had their ups and downs as well, but love found it's way and brought them together in marriage.  And isn't that what most people essentially desire to find love.  To find that fairytale kind of love that might actually sustain way past the glitz, lust, and early stages of romance.

Real, true, honest to goodness love is probably the one universal desire of just about all.   Just look at the strong attraction and following to romantic/love/happy/fairytale type movies, tv programs, books, or even blogs.

People want to believe, hope and know, that fairy tales are real....that romance is alive....that true love exists....that dreams can come true.

In a world that has become disillusioned at times by not only the high divorce rates, but infidelity, lack of loyalty/ honesty/commitment, the meaningless random hookups that leave many empty compared to what real love has to offer, and the overall inability of many relationships to be able to sustain themselves over time through anything, and so on;  well days like this remind us that true love can and does exist.

It reminds us of how special love is, and how sacred marriage truly is.  And it reminds us that fairy tales do come true.  (thing to remember is like everything else fairy tales require work, nurturing, and all that other good stuff that makes them able to sustain themselves over time.....sometimes behind the scenes of a fairytale there lies a lot of work that most of us just don't see) haha

Fairy tales are only as good as we believe and choose to make them!

"True love is not how you forgive, but how you forget, not what you see but what you feel, not how you listen but how you understand, and not how you let go but how you hold on."

Deeper meaning resides in the fairy tales told me in my childhood
than in any truth that is taught in life.
