The World's Happiest Countries

So as I'm reading the news today, this headline caught my attention.  And I was curious to learn not only the countries but the criteria that was used to rank them.  And thought it was worth sharing.

The World's Happiest Countries

1. Norway
2. Denmark
3. Finland
4. Australia
5. New Zealand

The criteria, well it consisted of 89 variables sorted into 8 subsections: economy, entrepreneurship, governance, education, health, safety, personal freedom and social capital.

The United States came in at 10, with Canada at 7.

And it got me pondering....if I could live in any country, what country would I choose?   And I'm not quite sure.  I mean for the most part I find certain areas of our country gorgeous, but if I were taking in all the variables they used to compile this list....well.....would I choose another country?  I don't know.

And probably before I would even begin to create a list, I would want to explore each on my own first.  I've heard wonderful things about those that did make the top five and so I definitely would want to put them on a must see list, but to live, well that is different story.

I enjoy warm weather, love the surf and sand, and we have always said we would head to a little island country like Barbados if we had to move anywhere.  Though I've always been curious about Australia and Italy, two places I have not had the opportunity to visit.   Definitely would want a country with beautiful countrysides and beaches, not overcrowded, low on pollution, good health care and economy, low crime, kind people.  Hmmmm....that's asking a lot right there! haha

Just something to ponder on this Friday.....

Think about it....if you could live anywhere, any country, where would you choose?

{I loved this photo from the article so I'm including it as well}
