Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life... a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year - and the deep, deep connection of all these things with God.

This morning in Philadelphia it feels more like Christmas, as it is snowing!  Our first snow fall of the season and it is on Thanksgiving.  It adds such a festive feeling to the holiday!

As my opinion has always been, if it has to be cold it might as well snow.  (of course driving and shoveling are the downsides to snow)  But overall if one can stay home and just enjoy watching the snow fall it is a rather magical feeling.

Heading to my sister's today for Thanksgiving.  She is having both her husbands family and ours so there are going to be a lot of people and kids.  Then again isn't that what the holidays are all about.

I get so excited to see my niece I literally cannot sleep the night before.  She is such a blessing.  This Thanksgiving I am most thankful for my family, my dog and my man. Words cannot begin to express what they all mean to me.

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tried to capture the snowfall this morning.  This is our backyard taken through the window. haha
