Monday Musings

This Monday has been anything but typical.  Over the week my man's mother had a spell and was hospitalized.  When he found out he drove up to New York at 12am  They didn't know why, and given it was a weekend no doctor would be in to examine her until monday.  She appeared much better yesterday so he came back to Philly because he just started this new job.

Well don't you know, this morning her heart gave out.  Something about the veins not pumping enough blood, and after reviving her they had to put a pacemaker in immediately.  So he left work, came home asked if I would accompany him to New York and off we went.  (literally packed everything we needed in 20 mins)  New York is only about 2 hrs from Philly, little longer to their house because it sits on Long Island.

So here we are.  She appears to be feeling much better after the that is good.  My man, well surprised and maybe shocked would be the best words to describe him.  They told him if she had not be in the hospital when this happened she would not have made it.  Imagine being told that?

Life can change so quickly in a matter of a few seconds.  One never knows.  And that is why we have to appreciate the good when we have it.  How often do we take for granted just breathing or our hearts beating.  How often do we take for granted our loves ones, our families, friends, and even pets.  And how often do we take for granted many other little things in our life?

Today in honor of his your mother, your father, sister/brothers, or any person whom is home to your heart....and tell them how much you love them.  Tell them what they really mean to you, or how thankful you are for them.

  1. I am glad that your mans mom is doing better! That is really scary!

  2. Wow, how amazing is it that she was already in the hospital!

  3. sounds like a really tough day. i'm glad to hear that things are going well.

thanks for the reminder to cherish the time we have with people we love!

Please feel free to share your thoughts. Blessings!
