“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work. You don't give up.”

I love this quote.

With all that has been going on lately, there are moments I have felt in the dark.  And when I say in the dark I mean that feeling when you want certain things to happen, but you feel in the dark to as if they will.

Like for instance, lately I feel in the dark about finding a job (or a job I would love), and about finding a house for us.  Also, I have felt in the dark about certain health related issues too. (but that's another story)

I've always leaned toward the belief that if you work hard enough or desired something enough anything is possible.  As I got older I wondered if that was just wishful thinking, or me being too idealistic.

Still not sure, but I have learned it does require one to wait and watch at times because sometimes the things we truly desire or want answers too don't always happen, or happen when we hope they would.

That's why I love this quote because that is where hope comes in.   To remain hopeful in those moments that aren't always perfect, or that make one feel as if they are in the dark, is what keeps one motivated and inspires one to hold out for the dawn that just might bring answers or make dreams a reality.

The lotus flower drops its seeds into the darkest mud. The magnificent blossom unfolds gradually with the morning light. One petal at a time, with intense determination, it transcends the muck and the muddy water to burst forth a beautiful flower.   As the lotus awakens and blooms at the first rays of the morning sun, it is a powerful symbol of hope, life, purity ,beauty, love and everything that is good.
