Monday Musings

Monday already?  Where, oh where do the weekends go....

Holidays weekends seem to go even faster.

So.... our Easter was filled with lots to do.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous and warm for this time of year.  There have been Easters when it snowed in Pennsylvania, so the fact that is was in the mid 70's and sunny was something to celebrate in itself.  And I might add the weather made it quite hard to stay in and get what needed to be done for Easter, as we both wanted to be outside.

Saturday was basically spent preparing for Easter.  Cleaning, laundry, and some baking of desserts.  Although, the baking didn't really start until night because during the afternoon we took a little trip to play Chip N Putt.  For anyone that might not be familiar with Chip N's basically a smaller version of a golf course.  Usually the holes are 100 yards and under.   After two rounds, a day spent in the sun, we were feeling a little tired, although we did muster the energy to come home and make homemade pizza!

So after dinner the baking of desserts for Easter began, and let me tell you by the time 11 o'clock rolled around I was just plain wiped out.   Definitely over did it Saturday.

Sunday woke up early to prepare the turkey.   It was a mix of both our families.  My dad could not make it because he was stuck working and it was my sister and brother in laws year to spend with his family.   So it was a smaller group this year.  And I definitely missed seeing my niece, family parties are always so fun when she is around.  But I was so happy my mom came even though my dad had to work.  And my man was happy his mother and sister came so thats all that really matters right.

We live about a hour from them, and the drive isn't all that easy.

Anyway....dinner turned out better than I expected.  Turkey, roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, buttered corn, and warm bread.  Chocolate cake, white chocolate chip cookies, and rice krispies for dessert.  The hardest part of cooking is getting all the food to be done at the same time.  Angel loves the cookies and rice krispy treats....she gets so excited when you even touch the plate they are on.  Oh and I found this great homemade ranch dip, no msg or preservatives, you simply mix it with sour cream.  It had a great taste.

The day went so quick though.  Why is it days with family and loved ones seem to go by so fast?

Seems like we spend all our time working and not enough time with the people who mean the most to us, or for that matter doing the things that mean the most to us.

These tulips were my Easter present from my man and for that I was very thankful because I love flowers!  Hope everyone had a spectacular Easter!
